Wow, I know I said I was done blogging for the evening.... BUT I just jumped on my Stride and Ride page...https://www.joinmda.org/lubbockstrideandride2009/Shannanagans and our team received another donation~ HOW EXCITING!! Seriously, I can't tell you how exciting it is to see y'all helping out the families I serve through working with MDA. This job has brought many new experiences and adventures to my life, but getting to see the people I love come together for these families is WONDERFUL FANTASTIC AMAZING. I hope that if you ever make it out here again you can meet some of our families. They are wonderful ordinary people living life day to day as we do, but with different obstacles. I know we all have obstacles in life and I appreciate you all taking time out of your busy lives to help out those you don't know. You are all a part of the cure.
Also, thank you for supporting me, without your support I wouldn't have found this career or group of people. Donation or no donation you all make a DIFFERENCE.

WOW, I can't believe I haven't blogged about the Knox Wedding

So, two weeks ago a Knox tied the knot and gained a wife!

IT WASN'T ME! bahahahaaaaa

Jeff and Amber were married January 17th! I don't have a TON of pictures because it was my job to hang out with Jordyn, we had so much fun! :) But I stole some pictures from one of Amber's friends camera.

The wedding was beautiful and the decorations turned out so well. I am really impressed at how Jon's family came through and put together a great wedding for Jeff and Amber.

It was a special weekend for so many -for both families the first child to get married, Gary was the pastor and Paul, the guys brother, was the photographer and it was his first wedding! Talk about a lot of energy. The rehersal was HILARIOUS~ some nerves were aboundant, but everything worked out PERFECTLY.

Funny story....

So, over the holidays Frankie was talking to me about the weather in Lubbock. He mentioned that he knows I have to drive in ice and snow a lot during the winter. My response was HUH, No! *I amended this response soon after. I think I may have been disjointed because this winter has been so light, not terribly cold; I have been running outside all winter.

Well, today that ALL changed. This is a picture I took while STOPPED at a red light. (I don't want ANYONE thinking I was driving and snapping pictures)

We had a bit of sleet and ice today, meaning the windchill this AM was 0, yep, the HIGH today 25. LOTS OF ICE. Luckily, everyone driving seemed to have the same goal, get home in one piece.
So, Frankie we do get some pretty gross weather. It is COLD here tonight.

PS- no running for me it has been nasty for 2 days and the tracker began recording Monday. :)

I will be doing some Jillian workout tonight, yay for DVD's.

Jewelry 'Party'

Today was a jewelry hosted by one of my coworkers. It was an odd situation, I love jewelry just like any other female, but I am not one to run out and buy expensive jewelry. I am a bargain shopper ~ thanks mom ~ and also a bit of a saver these days ~ thanks dad ~ I tend to hoard my money. Off track now, I went to the 'party' because I didn't want to let her down. I bought two items and then Holly and I hit up Dustee's INexpensive jewelry. I found the cutest necklace and earrings- $12 and a bracelet just like the one I have been in LOVE with from Tiffany's for $3.99!

AND the lady coordinating the party asked if I would like to throw one for my friends- NO - I prefer not to guilt my friends into buying stuff, let's just go shop. :)

Alas, my Saturday was interesting and fun. Ironic that on one of the two days off from work I see ALL the ladies I work with. :)



Other than that I have stayed inside- it was 28 at NOON! No run today entirely too cold. I will be doing my BL Bob Yoga in a few though. :)

Day after day...

So, the running not doing great, but I am doing it. Three times a week... day two and three are Saturday and Sunday- I was lazy this week.

But, my speed is increasing and I am excited about keeping up with the interval program I using right now. I apparenlty have a mental block at my 2mile mark- any time I try to go further I mentally breakdown and I just KNOW I can go further.

So, Bob freaked out~ seriously. I don't think it was ALL Joelle's fault, I think it was SEASONS of team members slacking and she just happened to be the contestant that broke his calm.

What is about these Jerry contestants that just tug at my heart strings? I HATE that he is gone. I really hope he and Stella have the self control to push themselves at home.

It was a rough episode.

I did intervals today in my run- phew- I was happy to get it done! The intervals were great, the cold was not so great and boy does my throat hurt. :(

Off to bed. It is much to late and I am much to tired to be up.

But, because the show began again tonight AND the new year is here I have a new focus~ my focus is HAPPINESS. One part of my happiness is to stay active, to run, to be accountable for the things I want to accomplish. Welcome to my phase 1~
