A Walk through 2011

**This turned out to be a very long walk through a VERY EXCITING 2011 ~ many photos to follow~ if you would like to see them, click on them to make a larger view!

January ~ big happenings: we ordered my wedding dress! *It was so, very exciting and made the wedding so real!

February ~ Cake tasting with Mom and my Maid of Honor

March ~We said goodby for now to Jeff and Amber and our nieces as they moved to Washington state for his first duty station in the Army. March was also the 1 year anniversary of our engagement! We celebrated with a good meal and a night just the two of us.

April ~Jon and I made a huge life change, we joined a gym together and made a commitment to our health. It has been one of the BEST decisions we have made to date. Lots of working and lots of wedding planning. The guest list may have been the MOST frustrating part... but in all the planning I did get to see my Mom (LOVED IT!!) and my bestest friend for all the wedding fun

May ~Mom came to Lubbock and we went Mother of the Bride dress shopping! It was an amazing weekend, we also celebrated Mother's Day and had a fantastic weekend! Jon finished another semester of his degree (woo hoo!) and made the President's List (again...SO PROUD of him) Work was super busy (as usual)

June ~ What a busy month!! Had a BBQ with my fiance and some of our great friends

Then I headed to Vegas with work for a week long meeting. Moral of that visit: going to LV for FUN is very different than going to LV for work. But we still managed to have some fun!
This was right after we zip lined down Fremont Street!

After Vegas it was off to Dallas for a wedding weekend with Mom. (and another work trip) We met with the organist and chose the music for the wedding ceremony. It was AMAZING and I am so glad that I listened then, because on my wedding day I didn't hear any of it.

Left Dallas and headed to Austin for another conference, but was so lucky to get to spend the weekend with a dear friend! We participated in the Keep Austin Weird 5K~ it is surely and annual tradition!

Mom and I went to the Church and I had a stomach dropping moment when I realized how long that aisle truly is.... but was still so very excited!!
We also picked out all of the music, the organ is heart stopping.

July ~ It was time to see the family!!! McGee Lake House Family Reunion 2011

Some of the top memories from this trip:
BLASTERS
SWIMMING with the entire family
Fishing with Nick
The fantastic ice cream from Efurds!!
Amazing meals
FANTASTIC conversations
the Jet Ski
Jet skiing with my brother and nephew
But most of all ... having all 8 of us together for days of fun in the sun!

August ~ 2 months until the wedding ~
Life was busy personally and professionally!!

Jon and I headed to Ruidoso for one of my work events and on our way home stopped by Whitesands, New Mexico to sled!!

MDA summer camp was the first week of August .... and as always was a WONDERFUL week!

Then it was time for my first bridal shower ~ hosted by my Matron of Honor and best friend Mere. It was such a fantastic time with friends and family at the Lubbock Women's Club!Side note: BEST EVER Chicken Salad Sandwiches at the LWC. I need to get their recipe!
2nd Side note: BEST EVER CAKE BALLS ~ Mere brought them from Amarillo and I can't wait until the next time we can have some more!

Next up my Bachelorette Party Weekend, which was my birthday weekend, so fun to spend it with my best girlfriends!!

We had so much fun at lunch at Joe T's (and yes we are crazy, but we sat on the patio in AUGUST in Fort Worth) and it was so FANTASTIC!

Ready to go melt, I meant out in Downtown Ft. Worth... Funky Town ... is funky that is for sure!

Finally, to round out a fantastically busy August my Fiance turned 30!

*Fiance unwilling to pose for a picture, so Big and I took a pic with his cake!

September ~ 1 month until I-Do!! *the REALLY TRULY INSANELY busy month!*
It was finally time for BRIDAL Portraits!!!
(I will have to do an entire post about the bridal portrait day)

This is my FANTASTIC photographer, Kelly Alexander! Do you need photos done? For any reason? Let me know and I will get you in touch with Kelly! She is a wonderful photographer and fun, to boot!

Special thanks to my Mom (who took that picture) and to Leah for getting up early, making me beautiful, and THEN spending the entire day taking bridal portraits.

*Mom and I have the best timing... sleeping bride!

Amidst all the last minute wedding fun, I did have to work, had a little event: MDA Telethon
So blessed to have a Bridal Shower in Dallas, too!

Me and My Girls!!

Nothing like a national meeting three weeks before your wedding ... at least it was in Dallas and I was able to get my bridal portraits done the weekend before!

Got to see Tracy since the entire company was at the meeting!

Mr. Big just continued to be his sweet cute self.

October ~ the wedding is upon us!!!

The week leading up to the wedding was crazy! Trying to get everything settled to leave the office for two weeks, finishing last minute wedding details, pre-marital counseling, getting our marriage license, PACKING (deserved a week all to itself), driving to Dallas, getting Jon a new wedding band (apparently he lost weight in his FINGER), I am sure there is more, but I have forgotten it by now.. ie: blocked it out!

The girls met up and got our nails done!!

Had a fantastic Bridal Luncheon hosted by my wonderful Sister-in-Law, Jill.
How blessed am I, to be surrounded by such a fantastic group of ladies. It was truly AMAZING!

My 'pink' ladies and Mother of the Bride
(she picked out the blue)

Dad during his speech at the Rehearsal dinner ~ what a fun, fun, fun night!!

Our sweet little flower girl, ready for the big day!!

Mom and Dad hosted a great post-rehearsal dinner party ~ it was so much fun!!

Day of the Wedding:
I woke up so excited, probably the most AWAKE I have ever been. I think I slept until about 10 minutes before my alarm was set.

With MaiTee ~ she is the MOST fabulous makeup artist! And a wonderful woman!!

Mollie did an AMAZING job with everyone's hair!

Mom and I ~ I cannot tell you how fast and slow this morning/afternoon went by... some of it felt like time was flying, and some felt like it was dragging by! Notice it is 2:30? An hour to go until it is time to start the pictures :)

Our "first look" was the best decision ~ I think I partially skipped across the ball room, then I slowed down (I didn't want to be out of breath when I got there) and my heart was already racing!

I LOVE this photo ~ it was taken during our first look and I think it captures "us" in a way that I couldn't have imagined wanting.

I will do an entire post on each "piece" of the wedding (I want to remember ALL of it)

Going to the chapel and we're gonnnnaaa get marrrrr---aarrr---ied!!

!!~Parents of the Bride~!! There are NOT enough Thank You's or words in the world to adequately express how much these two did to make our wedding the most wonderful time of my life.

Sweet Brother and Sweet Nephew
MR. and MRS. KNOX

Our bridal party, you will not find a better group of people, ever.

I obviously need to do a handful of posts about the wedding ~ such a wonderful weekend, day, night and the start of something so full of love and blessings.

I love this picture
Frankie and his speech!

Our sweet ring-bearer and flower-girl ~ tiny dancers!

Our little week in paradise ...

Once in a lifetime Honeymoon to St. Lucia!!

Home from the island and opening the generous wedding gifts, preparing to head back to Lubbock the next day.

NOVEMBER
First holiday as a married couple! We went to Dallas and spent the holiday with Mom and Dad.

Mom and Mr. Big hanging out around the fire pit!

DECEMBER
First married Christmas. We stayed in Lubbock this year and had a great week of celebrating the holiday with family. Christmas day was relaxed, Jon, Big and I opening gifts by the tree, Christmas breakfast and then a Christmas movie marathon!

Gotta love the brothers when they get together.
A quick snap shot by the tree, Mr. Big was not interested in participating!

And that my wonderful readers is a long walk through the most fantastic year of my life (to-date). Mind you I began this post December 29th and have spent a little of each day going month to month; January 15th it is ready to be posted!

CHEERS to 2012!!
